With every portrait I strive to create a unique and timeless work of art for my client. To make the process as smooth as possible, here are a few insights into my process and what to expect:

01
Discuss The Details

The first meeting with my client involves a discussion about the overall objective of the portrait and how to best convey the subject and their personality. We will cover the specifics about where the art will be displayed, sizing, framing considerations, and time frame. We will also discuss and agree upon a price.

02
Picture Time

I work mainly from my own digital photographs, so prepare to have your picture taken so that I can reference them to create the final piece.

03
Preliminary Sketch

If requested, I will complete a small preliminary sketch to be used as the basis for the finished drawing. This small sketch provides an idea of the composition, color and personality of the portrait and will be shown to the client for their approval.

04
Completion

I will complete the final artwork in my studio. The highest grade professional materials are used in the creation of the artwork to ensure durability and permanence under proper conditions. Once the portrait is finished I will send a photograph of the final piece to the client before delivery.

*It is important that the artwork is properly framed. Although the client is responsible for the cost of framing, I can assist in the selection of the best possible options. If desired, the completed commissioned portrait can be delivered framed and ready to be displayed for an additional cost.
